Welcome to Desert Glow

A thousand feet above Palm Springs, the air is cooler and the pace is slower.

Desert Glow has been the backdrop for birthdays, reunions, quiet escapes, and very slow mornings. The split layout gives every group room to breathe: bedrooms on their own wings, a big open living space in the middle, and a backyard that opens straight onto the mountains.

Spend the day in the pool, migrate to the hot tub as the sky turns pink, and let the game room settle the evening's championship. Palm Springs is 15 minutes away; Joshua Tree, 40.

Tonight's show starts at 7:37 PM. Breathtaking sunset over the mountains, from the hot tub, no ticket required.

The backyard

This is where the house really shines.

Guests tell us the sunset from the pool deck is their favorite part of the entire stay. The mountains glow, the sky goes pink and orange, and the water is exactly where you want to be.

Unbroken mountain views from the pool deck. The sunsets are unreal.

The game room

Game on. Glow up.

The converted, climate-controlled game room is the hangout you didn't know the desert needed: a place to escape the afternoon sun without calling it a day.

  • Classic Ms. Pac-Man arcade machine
  • Arcade basketball to settle it on the board
  • 75″ smart TV with fast WiFi for movie & game nights
  • Its own entrance, plus a door straight into the house

Sleep & comfort

Three bedrooms, split for privacy.

Bedrooms sit on separate wings of the house, so families and groups actually get space of their own. Every nightstand has a charging hub; every window has room-darkening shades; the central AC is strong and Nest-controlled.

  • Coffee bar with a variety of pods to get mornings going
  • Indoor dining for six beneath the sputnik chandelier
  • Huge couch, 65″ Roku TV & surround sound for movie nights
  • Board games, card games, and zero pressure to use your phone
The tap water here wins awards. Desert Hot Springs sits on a mineral aquifer, and the same water flows from every tap in the house. Genuinely better than bottled.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked.

How many people can join us?

The City of Desert Hot Springs sets the occupancy limits for vacation rentals here. For our home that means up to 8 guests staying overnight, and up to 12 people on the property during the day (7 AM to 10 PM; the daytime count includes everyone staying over). So a group of up to 12 is very welcome to spend the day together here, with up to 8 staying the night.

What do you need from us before check-in?

Three quick things, all standard for licensed rentals in the city: identity verification, an e-signed rental agreement, and a valid payment method on file for the security deposit. The deposit is a hold rather than a charge, and it's released automatically within 14 business days after checkout as long as the stay wraps up without issues (it almost always does).

What's the cancellation policy?

Cancel 7 or more days before check-in and you'll receive a 50% refund. Inside 7 days of check-in the trip is non-refundable, and bookings made less than 7 days before arrival are non-refundable from the start. One honest footnote: payment-processing fees charged by third-party processors such as Stripe are collected by them, not by us, so those fees can't be refunded in any scenario.

How long can we stay? Any perks for booking direct?

We host stays of up to 28 nights. And a nice bonus: returning guests who book directly can sometimes unlock a discount, depending on availability and the dates in question. It never hurts to ask.

Can we get early check-in or late checkout?

Often, yes. Message us the day before your arrival or departure and we'll do our best to make it happen around cleaning schedules.

How does pool heating work?

The hot tub is always heated free of charge. The pool can be heated instead by request for a fee; message us before booking so we can set it up for your dates. In summer the pool is naturally swimmable without heating.

Is the game room air-conditioned?

Yes, it's climate-controlled and stays cool and comfortable year-round. It has its own side entrance plus a door connecting directly to the house. Keeping the main garage door closed keeps the temperature steady.

What's provided for the grill?

We provide a Weber 22″ charcoal kettle and BBQ tools. Bring charcoal or grab a bag at the grocery store five minutes away.

What comes stocked in the house?

Fresh linens and plush towels, starter toiletries and paper products, a fully equipped kitchen with spices and cooking basics, coffee pods, board games, and a printed guidebook of our favorite local spots. For longer stays you may want to restock consumables.

Can we stream on the TVs?

Every TV has Roku, so you can log into your Netflix, Disney+, Max, or anything else, and the game room's 75″ screen makes a great movie theater.

Are there cameras or monitors?

For everyone's safety there are exterior security cameras (outside only) and noise-level monitors (they measure volume, never record audio). City occupancy rules limit the home to 8 registered guests, and we don't host parties or events.

Can we bring a pet?

We're not able to host pets. Several of our regular guests have allergies, and keeping the house pet-free is how we can promise them a comfortable stay. Service animals are of course accommodated as the law requires, so just let us know in advance.

Can we host a party or an event?

Not parties or events, but a gathering is a different thing. Up to 12 people are welcome on the property during the day, so a birthday lunch or a family get-together by the pool is genuinely encouraged. What the city's permit doesn't allow is events, extra overnight guests beyond the 8 registered, or noise carrying past quiet hours. Exterior noise monitors help everyone stay on the right side of that.
